The urge to reread this fic tends to pop up whenever I see the Criminal Minds episode that inspired it. I had thought I remembered who wrote it (because it had been an idea I had thought of after watching the episode, but I may have posted it to the angst meme), but I couldn't find it in their masterlist.

Puck had been in a fire when he was a kid and Kurt's mom had been the one to save him. She died in the fire. Puck hadn't known who she was and Kurt (or Burt, I don't think) knew who Kurt's mom had saved, if they knew she saved anyone at all. It had been a one-shot that may have been Puckurt, but it could also have been gen.
